The Club is pleased to present a cheque for £500 to our adopted Charity for 2019, Home-Start IOW..... Four of the Club's Youth riders made the presentation to Specialist Support Worker; Rachael Brodie from Home-Start. IOW. The charity is part of a UK wide organisation but importantly all the funds raised on the Island stay on the Island to fund crucial support for local families...... Home-Start IOW support Island families with children under 5yrs of age who are vulnerable or experiencing difficulties or both!..... Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very challenging, especially when children are young. Many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life. For some parents it’s a particular struggle as they are also coping with issues such as post-natal depression, their own illness, their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple births..... Home-Start provide volunteers to support the family in the home as well as providing supportive & non-judgmental play groups at several venues across the Island along with more targeted one to one support from specialist support workers..... All money raised will be put to very good use here on the Island. Home-Start are a non-profit organisation operating at full stretch and they increasingly find it necessary to rely heavily on their own fundraising efforts. The IOWMCC is very proud to help raising some funds, with every single penny going directly to help support Isle of Wight families.....
