Important Clerk of Course Message
Great to see everyone at the practice trial last Sunday, especially all the new and youth entrants. As your Clerk of the Course I want to bring to your attention a couple of issues that I need to remind you all of.
Firstly, for the sake of the Landowner, Club and yourself, you must sign on before you or your rider start riding. It should be the first thing you do when you arrive, if you haven’t signed on you can’t ride, this isn’t optional.
Secondly, parents, guardians or followers are not permitted to ride any “entrants” bikes in any circumstances, even if it is only to the van etc. You can carry it or push it or get another signed on rider to ride it but our insurance does not allow anyone not “signed on” to ride the bikes.
Finally, as many of you know Wayne whom has been doing the sign on paperwork is stepping back over the course of the next few weeks and I will be taking over, the Supplementary Regs are available on the ACU Sport 80 and the club website and the start time together any Final Instructions are there to view.
The start time is clearly stated (usually 10.30) and the arrival is usually 09.30. You have a one hour slot to sign on.
In the past Wayne can be seen grappling selflessly with the paperwork after many of us have completed our first lap. This isn’t going to happen from here on, for two reasons.
Firstly, I’m usually Clerk of the Course and need to be available on the course for any other issues, and secondly I intend to still ride the trial which starts at 10.30. If you arrive late the signing on forms may be locked in my van and therefore see above for the consequences.
Please try to sign on in good time, all of the officials and assistants are volunteers to make your event fun for you all. My telephone number is widely available and so if for any reason life isn’t going to plan on Sunday morning please call me..
