The Matthew Russell Memorial Cup:
Nodewell Farm, courtesy of the Morgan Family
The annual Matt Russell Memorial Trial was held on Sunday 18/11/18 at Nodewell Farm, Totland. The Club would like to thank the Morgan Family for welcoming us back for this special event. Very many thanks also to the Observers who’s help is very much appreciated. Congratulations to Darren Taylor who will be awarded the 2018 Male Observer Award. Darren has turned out an incredible seventeen times, only missing a single trial this year! – brilliant effort Darren, very well done.
Matt Russell was a popular and a well-liked member of the Club. He was an accomplished Intermediate class rider who tragically and suddenly lost his life at the age of just twenty-nine. His close friend, Ross Haydon assisted by his Son, Alfie were today’s course setters. Matt’s Dad; Tony Russell accompanied by Simon Morgan, presented the ‘Matt Russell Cup’ to the Intermediate class winner; Ross Haydon. Presentations were also made to James Stay and Simon Watmough for wining their respective classes.
The Club would like to extend a very warm welcome to four new members; Alfie Gaskin, Kevin Curnow, Chris Wilkins and Jason Morgan – we hope they enjoyed themselves today and we hope to see them back in the near future.
Lone Expert rider; James Stay was going well on the tricky ‘A’ route until a spectacular crash over the logs on section six. He managed to complete the trial, despite taking a heavy knock to his arm, for a loss of sixty-one. The well contested Intermediate class was won by Ross Haydon, on twenty-six, three ahead of Mark Coombes in second. Jos Wright put in a solid performance to take the third spot with a total of thirty-three. Championship leader Shaun Harris was forced to settle for fourth, but crucially, he finished ahead of Alan Gosden to earn what could be an important single point gain. Harris goes into the final round five marks in front of Gosden - ensuring a thrilling climax at the decisive final Championship round. Ben Brodie and Scout Gregory were the only two Clubman riders to finish. Brodie, who has already won the class, was the clear winner adding another ten points to his seasons tally. Scout has only recently moved up a class from the Novices - but he may well be a serious Clubman title contender in 2019.
Simon Watmough took the honours in the Novice class by just a single mark from Rob Baker, section two proving costly for Baker. Dan Flux secured a good third place with Colin Brodie in fourth. Brodie will finish with an excellent third place in the Championship. Dan however leads the title race by five marks from Rob, with one round to go. As in the Inters, this should prove to be a nail biting end to the 2018 season! John Townsend, the Clubs oldest competitor, will add the 2018 British Bike Title to his vast collection. John needed to finish in one of the two remaining rounds to qualify. He completed today for a loss of forty-six – well done John, top effort. Gary Jones, the only finisher in the Adult Beginners, claimed another win dropping just nineteen marks. Harvey Grieve (Youth Expert) completed the ‘B’ route with a total of forty-nine – a score to rival some of the adults on the same route! Harvey has done more than enough to secure his Championship win.
Meanwhile the Youth Novice class saw three riders competing for the honours. Alfie Haydon proved to be the clear winner (making it a Father & Son Double). Josh Morris however must be exceptionally pleased with his second place today – brilliant performance Josh! Dan Locke was forced into third spot on this occasion.
The Club next meet for the final 2018 Championship Round on Sunday December 2nd at Haslett Farm, Shorwell.
The Club is pleased to announce that entries are now being accepted for the popular Wight Two Day Trail, April 27th and 28th 2019. Entries are limited – book your place early to avoid disappointment. You can find the Reg’s and entry form in the FORMS section of this website.
The Guy Fawkes Cup:
Knighton Sand Pit
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club held the Guy Fawkes Cup Trial at Knighton Sand Pit on Sunday 4th November. The Club would like to thank Mr. Roger Morgan for welcoming us back to what is an excellent trials venue. We also thank the course setters; Alan & George Gosden, Simon Newnham and Geoff Taylor for eight top sections, all eight observers and Club Photographer; Viki Taylor – great team effort.
The Club would like to congratulate two Island riders for their success in the 2019 Southern Centre ACU Solo Star Trials Championship. Rob Howard won the Expert’s and James Stay won the Clubman (Intermediate) class, with one round to spare – two superb and very well deserved results. Rob Baker and Dan Flux are both in the top three in the Novice class – our best wishes to them for the decisive final round at Ringwood on December 30th.
Three youth riders in action today, headed up by young Alfie Haydon in the Youth Novice class. Alfie rode a blinder to complete the trial with the joint lowest score of the day, just eight dropped marks – superb effort by him. Dan Locke secured an excellent second spot. Josh Morris was the only Youth Beginner today but despite the lack of competition he posted a very good score of fourteen. Gary Jones won the Adult Beginner’s, finishing some way clear of Joe Moore in second. Simon Newnham was the pick of the bunch in the Sportsman class, negotiating the ‘B’ route for a loss of only eight marks – equalling the lowest total of the day.
James Stay proved to be the lone Expert competitor but posted an impressive total of thirteen. James commented “the ride of my life, really happy with that”. Jos Wright finished at the top of the Intermediate’s with another impressive score, of fourteen, four ahead of Alan Gosden with Shaun Harris in third. Harris leads the Championship by a slender margin of four points from Alan Gosden – with just two rounds to go, this one could easily go right to the wire! Meanwhile the Clubman class was won by Ben Brodie finishing on sixteen. Scott Milton claimed the second spot – only five marks between these two. Scout Gregory must be pleased with his third place finish following a move up in class from the Novices. The Novice class was convincingly taken by Simon Watmough, another rider equalling the lowest score. Colin Brodie and Rob Baker were tied on fifteen but the second place was awarded to Brodie who notched up twenty-one cleans to Baker’s twenty – excellent riding by all three. Championship leader; Dan Flux was forced into fourth. Dan leads Rob Baker by just seven points – the final two rounds will prove decisive, promising a thrilling climax .
Nick Symes (Twin Shock) and John Townsend (British Bike class) both claimed the maximum ten Championship points to add to their seasons tally. Nick has sealed another Twin Shock Title following today’s result – congratulations Nick. John has to finish in one of the two final rounds to qualify for the 2018 British Bike class title.
The Club next meet on Wednesday 14th November for the Club Annual General Meeting, all members are being encouraged to make the effort to attend – 8pm at the Camphill Community Sports Club, PO30 5ZA. The next trial is scheduled for Sunday 18th November for the Matthew Russell Memorial Trial. Nodewell Farm Totland, signing on from 11am, trial begins at 12 noon. Entries are now being accepted for the popular 2019 Wight Two Day Trial. 27th and 28th April, Knighton Sand Pit and Bembridge Down – The Reg’s and entry form can be found in the ‘Forms’ section.
The Ted Phillips Cup:
Godshill Park Farm, courtesy of Mr Angus Baird.
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club held the tenth round of the 2018 Winter Trials Championship on Sunday 21st October at Godshill Park Farm, Godshill. The Club would like to thank Mr Angus Baird for allowing us the use of this superb and spacious piece of land. We also need to thank Geoff Taylor, Simon Newnham, Alan Gosden, Dan Locke and Kameron Taylor, who between them set eight top sections. Thanks to all the Observers, Club Photographer, Viki Taylor and all those that helped to clear up afterwards.
The riding conditions were pretty much perfect, absolutely no wind and very warm Autumnal sunshine, presenting the riders with plenty of grip throughout the entire trial. The Winter Series consists of thirteen trials and riders must complete a minimum of eight trials (in the same class) to qualify for an award.
James Stay (the lone Expert rider) put in a confident performance and despite the lack of competition he posted an impressive total of just twenty-three marks. After a short break, Andy Steele, returned to trials with an excellent effort to take the Intermediate class by three marks from Jos Wright in second. Shaun Harris was forced to settle in third on this occasion. Harris remains in pole position for the Championship, however there are just enough rounds, and points, left for Andy to steel the honours!
Scott Milton proved to be the clear winner in the Clubman class. Championship favourite; Ben Brodie finished in second, his first time out on his new TRS, sections one and five were decisive. Meanwhile over in the Novice class it was Scout Gregory who earned himself the maximum ten points. Scout has recently joined the Club – and won every time out, competed in four and won four. There are only three Winter Series rounds remaining, Scout could end the season with the highest total - but still not qualify for an award! John Townsend must be pleased with his performance to take another win in the British Bike class, finishing with a respectable thirty dropped marks. Gary Jones won the Adult Beginners, by a ‘country mile’, finishing the day for a loss of just seventeen marks. Joe Moore took the second place with fifty-two marks, one ahead of Joe Taylor in third. Young Alfie Haydon (Youth Novice) finished the trial with the lowest score of the day. A miserly three dropped marks – fantastic performance from this young talented rider. Dan Locke earned himself a fine second place following a move up in class from the Youth Beginner’s. Dan has already secured the 2018 Beginner title and is now taking the opportunity to ‘live’ practise on the harder ‘C’ route, in preparation for 2019.
The full results are available on the Club website: www.iowmcc.co.uk. The next trial will be held on Sunday 4th November - The Guy Fawkes Cup. Please keep an eye on the website where all the details will be available nearer the time.
The Club would like to congratulate Club member; Chris Stay on his excellent performance in the 2018, RT Keedwell, British Trials Championship. Chris finished the season with a fine third place in the final round held at Totherick Quarry, East Ayrshire. Chris finished in sixth place overall (Expert class) only seven marks from the top three - despite being forced to retire, in round two at the Lakes, back in April. Any finish there would have almost certainly seen him on the Championship podium. Top effort by Chris and the team supporting him.
The Frank Pragnell Cup:
Bembridge Down
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club held the ninth round of the 2018 trials Championship at Bembridge Down, courtesy of Mr Rob Taylor. The Club would like to thank the Taylor family for welcoming us back to this excellent trials venue. We would also like to thank Club Photographer; Viki Taylor for her skilful use of the camera and to all eight Observers – superb effort people. Andy Scott-Jackson and Stuart Gummer set eight brilliant sections, which delivered the riders with a testing but enjoyable challenge.
George Gosden completed the trial with the lowest total of the day – a miserly seven dropped marks on the Elite course providing some brilliant spectating for all to see. James Stay cemented his 2018 Expert class campaign with another win, although he had to dig deep. Second spot went to Rory Stephens, who unfortunately took a heavy tumble, spectacularly crashing out at the difficult seventh section, on lap three - which put pay to his challenge for the win. Meanwhile the Intermediate class was won by Championship favourite; Shaun Harris. Harris finished ten marks ahead of his nearest rival, Jos Wright. Course setter, Andy Scott-Jackson just about held his nerve to take the third place. Alan Gosden and Stuart Gummer were tied, Gosden was awarded the fourth spot notching up eight cleans to Gummers seven. The very much anticipated showdown between Mr Comedy Coombes & Shaun Harris proved to be a monster of an anti-climax. Comedy allegedly broke his gear lever and decided an early retirement was the order of the day - allowing Bomber Harris to drop his payload in full to get the win. When asked to comment about his dubious decision to retire, Comedy simply laughed and promised to come out with both barrels blazing (along with a working gear lever) at the next round!
Another tie break decided the Clubman class – this time it was Phil Chase who took the honours from Paul Kent in second. These two were tied on marks lost, and scored seven cleans each – Chase notched up eight ones to Kent’s six – excellent effort by both riders. The Novice class proved to be another very close contest ending with a third consecutive win for Scout Gregory. Scout just about held on to finish two marks ahead of a spirited performance from Rob Baker with Simon Watmough in third. Nick Symes was the only Twin Shock rider in action but despite the lack of competition he posted a very competitive total of just sixteen marks.
Joe Taylor won the Adult Beginners, eight marks ahead of Gary Jones in second. The Youth Novice class was won by 2018 Champion elect, Alfie Haydon. Alfie finished with a total of forty-seven, a good score on today’s tougher sections. Dan Locke grabbed his first points in the Youth Novice’s after moving up from the Youth Beginners in preparation for his 2019 campaign. Predictably he finished with a large total but there is no doubt he will very soon improve on what was a top effort. Josh Morris earned himself the maximum ten Championship points on offer today in the Youth Beginner class – Very well done to all three youth riders.
The full results are available from the Club website: www.iowmcc.co.uk. The Club next meet on Sunday October 21st for the Ted Phillips Cup. Please keep an eye on the Club website where you will find all the details once they have been finalised.
The Club would like to congratulate Club rider; Chris Stay, and the team behind him, on his superb second place finish at the recent British Solo Trials Championships, The Hafren Trial, Mid Wales. This superb effort leaves Chris in fifth place overall (Expert class) with two rounds to go. We wish him all the very best at the final two rounds where he has a very real chance of a Championship podium place.
The Medina Cup:
Shorwell Chalk Pit, courtesy of Mr Ralph Cook.
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club held the seventh round of the 2018 Winter trials Championship (The Medina Cup) on Sunday September 16th at Shorwell Chalk Pit, courtesy of Mr Ralph Cook. We would like to thank Ralph for his continued support, allowing us to use his land once again. The Club would also like to thank the (rookie) course setters; James Stay, Rob Howard and Rob Baker. Who between them produced a mix of eight challenging and fun sections – top effort guys. Many thanks also to the Observers, particularly to first timer Jenna Locke. Jenna did a superb job on section five and we hope to see her back very soon. Guest Photographer; Ian Groves, produced some top images for all to see – so very many thanks to him too.
Club riders were treated with a very welcome appearance from British Championship rider Chris Stay along with his training partner (an accomplished rider in his own right) George Gosden. Both were deservedly put in a class of their own – The Elite class. Chris completed the trial with a total of five marks – all lost on the difficult third section. George finished not much further behind on thirteen - top stuff guys, some brilliant riding and top quality spectating enjoyed by all.
To qualify for an award, riders must complete a minimum of eight trials from a possible thirteen – the riders best twelve finishes count towards the Championship. The top honours most definitely stayed in the family - James Stay won the Expert class from fellow course setter, Rob Howard. Despite a spirited performance from Rob, it was James that claimed the win in the end with a seven mark margin. Meanwhile, the Intermediate class proved to be an even closer battle between Shaun Harris and Jos Wright. Harris fought hard to secure a narrow win from the talented younger rider - by just two marks. Andy Scott-Jackson did very well to finish in third place. The Clubman class was won by Ben Brodie, following a short break from the sport – although he still managed to finish twenty-three marks ahead of nearest rival; Phil Chase. The third spot went to Paul Kent, who chose a rather tricky trial to move up from the Novices - but an excellent performance none the less.
Scout Gregory, in just his second competitive Club outing, dominated the Novice class to take his second successive win. Course setter, Rob Baker, was forced to settle in second place - section seven making all the difference here. Simon Watmough was just one more mark adrift in third. Nick Symes reigned supreme in the Twin shocks, Nick has all but sealed the 2018 Twin shock title. Calvin Wright, who would normally officiate as an observer, took part on his Ossa and secured a good second place finish. The Adult Beginner class was emphatically won by Joe Taylor, twenty-six ahead of Gary Jones, sections one and three proved decisive.
Three Youth riders turned out for this trial, all in different classes. Harvey Grieve (Youth Expert) Alfie Haydon (Youth Novice) and Dan Locke in the Youth Beginners. All obviously added another ten Championship points to their season totals. There is a target that young Alfie has set his sights on – and that is to finish ahead of Twin shock rider Nick Symes – he came very close this afternoon, only five marks behind! Alfie is definitely closing in, it surely won’t be too much longer before reaching his next milestone. Geoff Taylor and Mark Coombes were riding in the Sportsman class. The Sportsman riders are free to mix and match different routes, section by section. No Championship points are awarded as a result. This is an ideal way to ride just for fun. Geoff ended up with twenty-five, Mark finished on thirty-two.
The Club next meet on October 7th for the Frank Pragnell Cup. Probably near to the East coast of the Island. Andy Scott-Jackson and Stuart Gummer will be setting the sections. We look forward to seeing you all there. Please keep an eye on the Club website where all the details will be available nearer the time.
The GES Cup:
Duxmore (Chalk Pit), courtesy of the Read Family.
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club kick started the second half of its main Winter Series Trials Championship on Sunday 2nd September at Duxmore Chalkpit, Downend, courtesy of the Read Family. The Club would like to thank them for welcoming us back to this excellent venue. Thanks are also in order to Jono Read, Nik Read, Ben Read, and Scott Milton for setting eight superb sections as well as a ‘just for fun’ hill climb – top effort by them. Thanks to the Observers who help to keep things moving and to Club Photographer; Viki Taylor for her excellent skills with the camera.
We would like to extend a very warm welcome to three new members; Scout Gregory, Adam Pomeroy and Joe Moore. All three took part in the recent Nigel Crouch Memorial trial as ‘temporary members’ and are now fully signed up – We hope they all enjoyed the trial and we look forward to seeing them again very soon.
The weather conditions were absolutely perfect, no wind just bright warm late Summer sunshine bathing the chalk pit allowing for plenty of grip all afternoon. George Gosden, the lone Expert rider, took full advantage and despite riding unopposed posted a very competitive total of just fourteen marks. Meanwhile there was a bit more competition in the Intermediate class which was won by Ben Read who finished with a total of sixteen, twelve marks clear from Alan Gosden in second with Shaun Harris in third place, only three marks separating these two. Scott Milton must be happy with his performance on the Clubman route only dropping marks at three of the eight sections.
The Novice class was topped with an impressive effort from new member, Scout Gregory, he managed to keep his losses down to thirty. Scout is no newcomer to trials but this was his first proper competitive outing with the Club and he aheived an excellent result. Dan Flux took second spot on thirty-six with Colin Brodie just three more behind him in third – some very close riding by these three. Twinshock rider, Nick Symes posted the second lowest score of the day negotiating the tricky sections for a loss of only five marks – very good effort by him. John Townsend (British Bike class) also had a good day on the rather heavy but trusty BSA C15 and earned himself another ten Championship points. Jono Read and Adam Pomeroy both chose to ride in the Sportsman class, this class allows riders to mix and match different routes, section by section, and as such the class carries no Championship points.
Joe Taylor recorded an emphatic win in the Adult Beginner’s dropping only one mark on section six spoiling an otherwise perfect performance – excellent job Joe. Gary Jones managed to hold off a spirited challenge from Joe Moore to take second, just five marks between the two. Four Youth riders in action today, Harvey Grieve (Youth Expert) had a mixed day with some really good riding along with a few avoidable mistakes – he still went home happy bagging his ten points. Youth Novice rider, Alfie Haydon, had a fantastic ride, loosing just ten marks and beating all but one of the Adults on the C route! Brilliant performance Alfie. In the Youth Beginners, Championship favourite, Dan Locke didn’t disappoint finishing nine marks ahead of the improving Josh Morris – very good effort by both young riders.
Three of the Club’s riders were in action at the Geoff Chandler Trophy Trial (Waltham Chase MCC) in the latest round of the Southern Centre ACU Solo Star Championship. Congratulations to Rob Howard who managed to win the Expert’s and James Stay who finished joint first in the Clubman class after finishing with a clean sheet. Rob Baker just missed out on a top three finish in the Novice class but a superb ride none the less. All three are in good shape in the Championship - keep up the good work lads – bring that silverware back across the Solent!
The Club next meet for the Medina Cup Trial on Sunday 16th September. Please keep an eye on the Club website (Events) where you will find all the details nearer the time.
The Nigel Mason Crouch (Bighobbler) Trial:
Lee Brickyard, Bouldnor
The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club held a Special Trial on Sunday 19th of August, in memory of Nigel Crouch who sadly passed away in January. The emphasis was on staging a fun social type event rather than one of a competitive nature, the trial was very well attended and all forty-one riders took this onboard – and a great day was had by all. The trial was followed by a free BBQ and a chance to socialise where many stories were told as people shared their memories of Nigel and some of the antics he used to get up to!
We would like to say a special thank you to Ann Gustar & all her Family and Friends for allowing us to stage the event in the copse at Bouldnor and for preparing, cooking & serving the food & drinks – superb hospitality by fantastic hosts!
Thanks once again to all the guys that helped to clear the way and set out the eight section lap. The instructions were to ease the severity of the sections to aid the ‘non-competitive’ element and overall, a brilliant job was done – although this was somewhat lost on the last two sections. I can assure you that no expense will be spared when we book those responsible on a refresher course of instruction on the meaning of ‘easy’. Personally I blame the rain earlier in the morning! Very many thanks to the Observers, particularly Darren Taylor on section seven who definitely had to work hard to keep things moving there and of course to all those who helped clear up after the trial – very much appreciated. Viki Taylor also had to work hard with the camera. Viki found herself in a never ending battle against the constantly changing light conditions but still produced a great set of pictures - top effort Viki.
The Nigel Mason Crouch ‘Bighobbler Trial’ will become an annual event and although the focus is not on competition there are a couple of stunning Awards that have been sponsored by two of Nigel’s close friends, Dave Rose and Joe Henderson. A stunning Silver Plated Cup called the NMC Memorial Trophy from Dave and something a bit different all the way from Australia, The Joe Henderson ‘True Spirit’ Award, which certainly attracted plenty of attention and proved to be a talking point not just at the trial. It was held in quarantine for ten days by HM Revenue & Customs – while they were trying to work out what it was and if it was likely to explode or not!
Now these Awards are not necessarily determined by the results alone. It was decided to present the True Spirit award to first time rider Joe Moore. This was Joe’s first ever trial and he enjoyed himself so much he fully intends to become a regular rider. Nigel was well known for inspiring and encouraging younger riders and that legacy clearly continues to have an influence. The NMC Memorial Trophy has been awarded to Shaun Harris. Despite injuring his leg during a training session, he managed to force his boot over the swelling taking part regardless of the pain. Shaun went on to complete the trial and finished fourth in the Inters. Congratulations to both riders.
The Club next meet on Sunday September 2nd with the resumption of the main Winter Series Championship. Please keep an eye on the Club website where you will find all the details once they have been finalised.
Final Standings. 2018 Pat Death Summer Series:
Pagham Farm, Limerstone Farm & Hawthorn Manor Farm
The Club would like to once again thank the Landowners who allowed us to hold this year's Summer Series Championships at three excellent venues: A. B. Farms Ltd (Pagham Farm) Geoff & Mary Case (Limerstone Farm) and Mr Fred Colson at Hawthorn Manor Farm.
Please be sure to read the notes at the top of the page.
Very many congratulations to all the Award winners - We look forward to presenting your trophies to you at the Awards evening in February.
(Revised x 2) Pat Death Summer Series, 3rd Round:
Hawthorn Manor Farm, courtesy of Mr Fred Colson.
The third and final round of the 2018 Pat Death Summer Series trials Championship was held on Sunday 22nd July at Hawthorn Manor Farm, Chale. The Club would like to thank Mr Fred Colson for inviting us back to what was a sun soaked venue. The ground had become very overgrown and took many hours to clear. The Club recognises the very hard work put in by; Malcolm Hawkins, Simon Newnham, Jason Preece, Steve Chase, Mark Coombes, Robert Baker and Andy Ryall who’s efforts made the trial possible.
The Summer Series consists of three trials held during May, June and July. To qualify for an award riders have to complete in all three rounds, in the same class. The closest battle of the day was fought out by Rob Howard and James Stay – in the Expert class. Rob just about did enough to claim the top spot, with a total of nineteen marks. James finished just three more adrift and was forced to settle for the second place. James’s second place was enough however for him to win the Championship – well done James, congratulations. Meanwhile the Intermediate class saw another solid and confident performance from Mark Coombes. Mark finished with the second lowest total of the day, just three dropped marks to seal the win and the Championship. The improving Shaun Harris took the second place from Andy Scott-Jackson in third. This result also earns Shaun the second Championship place. Simon Newnham (Sportsman) arguably put in the best performance of the day completing the four laps of eight sections with an almost perfect score of one – excellent effort by him. It was good to see Michael Brown back on his bike to take the second place. Phil Chase proved to be the only Clubman class rider this afternoon, despite the lack of rivals, he managed to post a very competitive score to take the vital ten points he needed to seal the Summer Series Championship.
The Novice class produced a fine win for Dan Flux who completed the trial for a total of nine marks. Rob Baker had to finish ahead of Dan for the Championship win - but was forced into second place with Paul Kent in third. Dan’s superior riding on sections two and eight made all the difference giving him the title. Only one Twin Shock rider in action at the hot Hawthorn course; Nick Symes finished on a total of five marks to take the win today and the Championship. Another lone rider, Joe Taylor in the Adult Beginner’s class also put in a confident performance to finish with the second lowest score of the day – just two dropped marks, sealing his Championship win. Young Alfie Haydon (Youth Novice) found sections seven and eight to be quite challenging where he dropped twenty-one of his twenty-six total. Alfie never the less must have gone home happy in the knowledge that he has added the 2018 Summer Series title to his ever growing list of achievements. Congratulations to all those class winners.
The Club next meet on Sunday 19th August for a very special event: The Nigel Crouch Memorial Trial will take place at Lee Copse, Bouldnor, Yarmouth. The trial is intended to be a very easy fun trial. There are no Championship points on offer, the main aim of the event is to celebrate and remember the big man. Please note the later than usual start time of 2:30pm. There will be a free BBQ afterwards with tea, coffee and soft drinks provided. If you want something a bit stronger you are welcome to bring your own alcohol. Ann Gustar and Family will be your hosts for the afternoon – many thanks in advance to them. The trial is open to non-members – temporary (free) one day Club Membership and ACU day licences (£3 each) are available. All the details you need will be available from the Club website: www.iowmcc.co.uk by Saturday 28th July.
