News from the Club's Committee

Hi IOWMCC, some news from the Club’s Committee.

There will be several important committee changes at November’s AGM. Many of you will already know, that for personal reasons, I will regrettably be stepping down from all organising roles at November’s AGM and that I will not be seeking re-election as Club President.

Becoming President of IOWMCC was and still is such an honour and I am very grateful to have been given that opportunity.

There has been much work done ahead of November’s AGM working with Alan Gosden who has volunteered to take on the ‘Meeting Secretary’ role. This will ensure that the Club’s trial permit applications, the online entry set up processes, and the management of the Club’s Sport 80 Admin account will continue uninterrupted beyond November.

In fact, Alan has made excellent progress. He has pretty much already fully taken on that role. I want to take this opportunity to thank Alan for his keen and enthusiastic approach to ‘learning the ropes’ - which has undoubtedly made this exercise to be a much smoother process than I had previously anticipated. Phew!

Richard Crickmore will also be stepping down from ‘Competition Recorder’ (results) and Geoff Taylor from ‘Membership Secretary’. However, Geoff and Richard will thankfully remain as Committee members.

On behalf of the entire Club, I would like to thank both Geoff and Richard for all their hard work over recent years. Without a Competition Recorder – there would be no Championships and without a Membership Secretary – there would be no Members!

Now, there has already been some interest on the membership role, but we are inviting people to put themselves forward for Competition Recorder, preferably before the AGM.

Obviously there will be some training required around the use of the Club’s digital scoring system, and Richard is happy to provide that training and fully explain all aspects of the job.

Please get in touch (either with me or directly with Richard) if you are interested in taking on the all-important Competition Recorder role (in good time) to avoid a damaging hard stop after November's AGM!
