Thanks to Andy Ryall, Calvin Wright, and Simon Newnham for the excellent trial, And of course Chris Spence for allowing us to use the venue.

The close battle for the Intermediate championship continues, Will West managing to get the win this time bettering Ross Haydon, by just one mark. Looking forward to the two-day showdown.

Chris stay claims the win with a perfect ride, in the expert class.

Dave Barnes continues to rack up the wins in the Clubman class, looking like the main contender for the championship.

It was close as ever in the Twinshock class, Nick Symes produced a perfect ride to take the win, Calvin Wright managed to claim second with a narrow margin of one dab over third place Stephen Wood.

Ray Power had a good win in the adult beginner class only dropping 2 marks.

B. Lucas had an exceptional ride only loosing 4 marks, on some tricky sections.

There was results on the score cards for people who had not filled out both signing on sheets, I have rectified this and included these results, this will be the last time. This is now a common occurence, Please remember to fill out all the forms or you will not get a result, Thank you

Jeffries Cup Trial:

Haslett Sand Pit

A very cold wind but no rain for this Trial. Another good turnout in most classes. Chris Stay won the Expert class losing only one 5 to spoil an otherwise clean sheet. The Inter class saw a very close battle for the win, with Josh Stephens and Will West both losing 10 marks each, so this went to a count back of most cleans, which again saw both of them tied on 26 cleans each, so the count back went to most ones, which saw Josh come out the winner on 5 ones to Wills 4. Ross Haydon was third with Rory Stephens fourth. The Clubman class saw Ben Read narrowly beat Dave Barnes for the win, with Stuart Gummer and Andy Scott-Jackson close for third and fourth, with Brian Gourley in fifth. A good turnout in the Twinshock class saw Nick Symes have an unfortunate 5 on section 5 to leave the door open for Jona Read to take the class win with 4 marks lost. Third was Steve Wood followed by Nigel Crouch, Calvin Wright and John Townsend. The Novice class saw Mark Blackwell take the win from Wayne Brodie and Chris Cooper. Mike Attrill made a return to riding to win the adult beg. class from J. Blackburn. Harley Blackwell had a one mark win over Jos Wright, 43 to 44, in the Youth novice class, and H. Grieve narrowly beat J. Furnell for the Youth U80 class win. Thanks to Ross Haydon, Nigel Crouch and Calvin Wright (and anyone else who may have been involved) for setting a good trial, and a big thankyou to Glen Draper for the use of the land.

A Fantastic turnout for a fantastic trial with new members and some returning familiar faces. There where a number of close battles, most notably between Will West and Ross Haydon for the overall win, With Will coming out victorious. Thanks to Mrs Jane Ball for allowing us to use this excellent venue, and thanks to everyone who helped with the course setting and observing.

Sorry for the late arrival of these results, and also thanks very much to Stephen Wood for doing an excellent job of the results whilst I have been busy.

Spring Cup Trial:

Shorwell Chalk Pit

View ResultsUploaded 12 years ago

A lovely sunny day for this trial brought a good turnout of riders to a challenging trial, making the most of the grip available and using some of the fine hills that Shorwell has to offer. The course was set by myself (Steve Wood) and helpers Simon Newnham and Nick Symes, a big thankyou to both of them. The Inter class saw a good win for Ross Haydon, with Will West not far behind in second, then Alan Stay in third with Simon Newnham close behind in fourth. This group of riders provided the spectator entertainment for the day on the spectacular hill of section 8, with Simon and Ross cleaning it twice each. The Clubman class saw Dave Barnes narrowly take the win by one point from Vince Richardson, with Ben Read and Gordon West not far behind in third and fourth. The Twinshock class saw a convincing win for Nick Symes, with Jon Read making a welcome appearance in the class to take second. The Novice class was won by Andy Scott-Jackson with Stuart Gummer making a return to Trials after 30 years to take second, and Simon Cox third. The Adult Beginner class saw Mark Blackwell and Chris Cooper tied for the win on zero marks lost, and Wayne Brodie and Chris Lucas tied for second with one mark lost each. Jason Blackburn was third with ten marks lost. Harley Blackwell had a lonely ride to take the win in Youth Beginner, and in the U80 class Blake Lucas took the win with Jacob Furnell close behind in second. Many thanks to Ralph Cook for the use of the fine venue, and last of all thanks to whoever sorted the sun for the day!
